I'm excited to share a recent data analysis project I worked on using the Global Surface Summary of the Day (GSOD) dataset. In this project, I dove into weather data for LaGuardia and JFK airports during the month of June 2020.
📊 Data Source (Google Cloud, Public Dataset): I used the publicly available GSOD (Global Surface Summary of the Day Weather Data) dataset, specifically the "gsod2020" table, to retrieve historical weather data.
🔄 Data Retrieval (BigQuery Google Cloud): Leveraging a custom script, I gathered temperature data for LaGuardia and JFK airports, focusing on the month of June.
📈 Data Representation (Data Looker Studio): The visualizations I created vividly illustrate the temperature changes at both airports throughout June 2020.
📊 Next Step: Data Modeling: The next phase of this project involves modeling the data for insights and forecasting. I'm eager to explore predictive models that can provide valuable insights into future weather patterns and help with planning and decision-making.
